Microsoft Word and PowerPoint is a course designed to teach students how to successfully operate word processing and presentation software and apply the software to real life situations. I had used Microsoft Word and PowerPoint in the past so it was simpler to understand the programs than Microsoft Excel and Access. Microsoft Word processes and stores text and Microsoft PowerPoint helps the user create and present presentations. This course was self guided and revolved around independent learning, so it helped me learn how to manage my time and set priorities.
I received this certificate from Microsoft after completing the certifications for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
Microsoft Word was fairly easy to understand and learn how to operate. This picture shows a mail merge, which will replace specific fields with actual people and addresses on separate pages. Using Microsoft Word, I learned how to format and specify the exact look of a document. The next time I used this software, I wrote an essay for English I Honors in MLA format. I predict I will use Microsoft Word a lot in the future for text based documents and assignments.
Microsoft PowerPoint is slightly more complicated than Microsoft Word, but still fairly easy to understand. The picture above shows a chart, which can be inserted into all four Microsoft programs (see certificate). Microsoft PowerPoint helps you to learn how to create a presentation and easily organize the slides and slide show to customize the presentation. Using Microsoft PowerPoint, I learned new ways to format presentations to make them more appealing and easier to understand. I will use Microsoft PowerPoint in the future for presentations needed for classes.
